I spun the axle hubs up on my lathe to fit outboard bearings and axle shafts.. Cut a disk out on burn table with 3/4" hole in center , inserted a bolt and turned the disk true and marked bolt centers.. Goog enough for 7 miles per hour. AND yes it must be a regional thing , but I've heard about "Simplex---xty for years around here. I've got nothing against Simplicity, in fact as a very young kid I would work shoveling and raking to the point of blisters just to drive a Model W with dump cart a few feet.. I was pretty easy to please in those days.. Lori I'm sorry that you think my posting is offensive but this is one of the few things that I enjoy and am able to actually do in my advanced age. I retired as a heavy equipment mechanic of over 40 years and am broken to the extent of both knees , 3 separate back surgeries, 1 hip and numerous other over worked ailments. Try carrying JD 690-B boom cylinders out on a service call. Try changing tracks on a JD 750 dozer without another machine on site or the lack of hydraulic boom on a service truck by yourself. Try slogging through a muddy field carrying a starter on your shoulders and pockets full of tools to a site where I could hear the Detroit powered sawmill in the distance , but couldn't see it. All this time, having to put the starter down to pull up my pants ladened by the weight of tools in pockets. So please , easy on the politically correct nomenclature of my hard earned tractor.
